The four accused were initially held for violating the state's alcohol prohibition laws.

The Mahindra Scorpio, en route to the court, came to a halt near Kachahari Chowk due to a lack of fuel. With the police officer at the wheel and another officer overseeing the accused, the police vehicle's fuel shortage led to the unusual sight of the accused pushing the SUV. The incident, filmed by onlookers, gained widespread attention on social media.

Concerns have been raised over the security risks posed by such situations, as there have been numerous instances of accused individuals escaping from police custody during transportation to court. Senior police officials have reportedly assured strict action against those responsible for the oversight, emphasizing the need for thorough vehicle checks before transporting accused individuals.
